My New Solar RV

My New Solar RV

My new Winnebago View RV (I just bought it this year) is an amazing machine and a home on the road! Best of all are the solar PV panels on the roof!

With 300 Watts charging all day, there is really no need for an electrical hookup, which means I can be much more selective when it comes to finding a nice spot to take it camping. Of course, the 3,000 Watt off-grid inverter helps to deliver me all the AC power I need, and a cleanly installed solar charge controller helps keep my batteries charged and healthy.

It’s such a comforting feeling knowing you can head out on the road and you’ll never have to worry about dead batteries!

By the way: We are excited to roll out a dedicated GoPower! section of our Hopland showroom to better educate and service our fast-growing RV, boating, and tiny home communities. GoPower! is the leading maker of quality mobile energy equipment, and we are eager to work with them to deliver a superior RV, tiny home, and boating experience powered by solar! These exciting new products will soon be available on RealGoods.com alongside our existing GoPower off-grid energy products.

  1. This is perfect! If something goes wrong or you just need to survive off-grid for a while it’s important to be able to renew your energy sources. A solar charger is perfect

  2. Solar energy is really suitable for RVs, no longer afraid of no electricity.

  3. Hello John,

I wanted to send you my congratulations on reviving the Solar Living Center! I used to buy products from you back in the 80s. My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to come and camp at your place and see for ourselves the great work you are doing.

Although not living totally off-grid, I am a similar line of work practicing and teaching Regenerative Urban Agriculture techniques, having designed and built several solar-powered zero-waste regenerative urban farms here in Southern California.
