NJ Commissioner Speaks About New Jersey Solar Market

October 13, 2011 by Kathleen Maier in Solar Stories with 0 Comments

Joseph Fiordaliso, Commissioner of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, recently attended Central Moving Systems’ solar ribbon cutting ceremony and shared his insights on renewable energy. As an advocate for renewable energy, Commissioner Fiordaliso was invited to be a guest speaker at an event celebrating the commissioning of the Bridgewater, NJ business’ 188kW solar array.

According to Commissioner Fiordaliso (pictured right with Real Goods Solar’s Andy Kern), back in 1999 there were only six solar installations in the state of New Jersey, but that number has grown to over 10,000! “We just passed California in number of commercial solar installations per sqare mile and are now ranked #1 in the U.S.,” Fiordaliso explained. He added, “International analysts determined that the New Jersey solar market is the most stable in world.”

  • Harry Simmelink: I agree, but people need to understand that adding Solar to their home is an asset that will increase the actual value of their property if / when they choose to sell. With the environment the way it is going we are unable to ignore any product that offers free energy at no cost to both the buyer and more significantly the earth!
